My love of the Universe that Hubble and huge earth telescopes have obtained for us is or should be well known. God is indeed busy, in the Universe. 🙂

“Pillars of Creation” is a photograph taken by the Hubble Telescope of elephant trunks of interstellar gas and dust in the Eagle Nebula, some 7,000 light years from Earth.^[1] They are so named because the gas and dust are in the process of creating new stars, while also being eroded by the light from nearby stars that have recently formed.^[2] Taken April 1, 1995, it was named one of the top ten photographs from the Hubble by Space.com.^[3] The astronomers responsible for the photo were Jeff Hester and Paul Scowen, at the time both of Arizona State University. In 2011, the region was revisited by ESA‘s Herschel Space Observatory.

I was so inspired by some of the video’s on YouTube about the Universe,  that I wrote a poem.

Dark, deep space, black dark
nothing to envision by any eye
nothing to hear by any ear
imagination, solitude unending
a ribbon unfolding beyond dreams

across this spectrum, a beam
pierces, shattering the darkness
building, arrow straight, bright
reflective optical laser stream
light married to matter, faster
bypassing the shooting star
going into the spatial void afar

a universe of unknowns, seeking
likely components of intelligence
we come with a myriad of greetings
in languages of the earth spoken
recorded in qubits of data focused
an unending streaming of music

reverberates around, fleet in travelling
past the building blocks, helix of space
unfolding before the the flash of light
pierces the darkness to reflect again
moving into the universal space race
where we will find the fragments of light
spun off from the nova of unknown suns

with passion, haste, the pieces are fitted together
when the data comes soaring back, summation
gathered into bytes, reassembled into information
counting down the seconds, split into the infinity
past the edges breaking free, into a spinning web
of the glorious rotations of sections, the Universe.
