“The UN system has failed”
“You can make fun of it, but in truth it was sad how the conference in Copenhagen is run, how individual who behave like the UN system failed,” the 59-year-old said in view of the often viewed as a failure UN Climate Change Conference 2009 in the Danish capital . So far there is no perfect frame, so Gates.
In view of the urgent problems in the world is a global government “badly needed,” said Gates. “Take the UN, it has been created especially for the security in the world. We are ready for war, because we have taken every precaution. We have NATO, we have divisions, jeeps, trained people. But what is with epidemics? How many doctors do we have as much planes, tents, what scientists? If there were such a thing as a world government, we would be better prepared. ”

The bigger the entity, the more likely there will be faults and flaws. Too many have their own agenda, their own little parts they are wanting to protect regardless of how the overall effect produces bad results, especially where there is money or resources, on the agenda.
If there were the possibility of a world government that could bring the divisions together, the cultural differences, the religious differences, it would be better for the world’s population, but a commitment to their own makes it impossible in this timeline.

Gates is certainly correct in calling the United Nations “a failure” as an organization, at least as far as human rights are concerned. One need only look at the grotesque slaughter of Syrian civilians, of men, women, the elderly and children by the regime of Bashar al-Assad, and the impotence of the world’s response, to know that Mr.Gates is right.
If the purpose of the United Nations isn’t to prevent unnecessary wars and to protect fundamental human rights against their most egregious violations, then of what real value is the United Nations?

The UN expanded. They’re in more areas of world interests than military. Some, like the Security Council are more or less in charge of the ‘world peace’ part.
Personally, I found all the areas that they have interesting. They collect data on virtually everything and than there’s the International Court of Justice.
The UN website seems innocuous but when you get into more aspects, there is more, like the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, the World Health Organization, and the treaties that get negotiated in the UN among countries.
